When I got the email informing about the trip to chakrata for team building, my first reaction was NO. As I didn’t want to skip my weekends sleep. As I consider it as a biggest recharger to get over the 5 day stress. But thanks to our manager with his unique way of convincing he again filled us with positive energy.
They named this Programme - Out Bound Training Program as they hired a trainer "Paaji"
who will teach us some management concepts like team building, de-stressing oneself,Time managment, co. goals, clarity in vision etc. in a natural set up.
Facility and admin took care of all the transportation, lodging boarding related issues and an itinerary for 3 days-2 nights was prepared with its help. Our group size of 24 people
was ready to set out for one of the most memorable training programs set in an unknown place, far away from the city chaos to concrete jungles.
The cozy 27-seater bus ensured that the journey is going to be hassle free which started at midnight hours of 26thmay 09 From Noida.
The Clamor speeding wheels down the road was killed by melodic voice of singers,or couplets of Ghalib and this went on till the wee hours when ultimately sleep dawned on everyone.
Finally when we woke up we all were comfortably numb for some undying moments. Words won't do justice to what we have witnessed was completely the greatest show of The Heaven on earth.
We were bombarded with miraculous views of Eucalyptus, Cactus & Oaks standing amazingly on neck-breaking high mountains with a stream running at their feet under a clear blue sky radiating with shining rays coming from the east while small huts and grazing herds were placed comfortably to add colors to the already stunning scenery. “Aur humne cheel bhi pehli baar hi dekhi itni upar se” as per one of our colleague :) :) Thus we reached our destination Viraat-Khai.
Then there was our trainer welcoming us after the ever hectic journey. Where some people stated him “kamal ka aadmi hain, kaha bula liya” :) :)
At the camp we were joined by our trainer (pajji) who allotted us our tents . The interiors of the tent were so cosy as was not expected.
In an hour, we got ready to have sumptuous brunch, then we all were ready for our first training session which involved a variety of interesting and engaging physical activities in which all of us enthusiastically participated.
For next activity we had 40feet cliff in front of us, locally known as Viraat khai. The Giant Gorge, behind us. So we were ready for rock climbing which we, to our surprise, completed with fun and with fearless spirit but not before getting tired to our bones.
A sumptuous lunch after a series of physical activities made sure that we all should not get out of our beds before the space under the sky gets dark and that’s what happened when we massed together around the bonfire half breezed (who weren't drunk) beneath the full moon for another show of veiled talent of our team members ranging from acting to cheating in dumshrads. :) :) And We were lucky that walk out didn’t occur :P :P.
Day two, weather became pleasant with cold showers. Clouds were passing by our tents, which made us feel like we are flying. The cold was something which we had not prepared well enough for. We were free zed while bathing, and few of us were fined as late comers. Then we had breakfast which contains ostrich’s egg omelet :) :), puri aaloo, papaya.
At 10am we were set for return journey but before that we landed at the banks of the Yamuna river for thrilling experience of Slithering.
It will not be wrong to say that with each passing moment our trip got better and better and each activity was better than the previous one and the Slithering didn't broke that sequence.
The movement with big bamboo stick through the rapids was exhilarating, physically demanding and as earlier said, thrilling.
The few hours spent in the heart of Yamuna brought fitting end to our stay in Viraat-Khai.
Temp. was rising as we were coming down towards the plain and at the same time descended upon us the realism of getting back to the old ways of living under the shadow of tall concrete structures.
And with this our out bound trainning ended with the bus parked outside the A-16, Sec-63, Noida-201301.
